Monclair Village- Banner, Logo, and Gateway

Through a Community design process, Golden Associates identified the Community’s desire to highlight their proximity to the Sausal Creek.  The environmental-themed mural (created by our in-house graphic design department) highlights the rich ecosystem of the creek.  The attached graphic has been produced to enhance the bleak concrete walls and columns at the Interstate 580 underpass.  The complete mural is designed to be painted on one large concrete wall and applied in a series of five concrete columns as individual panels. 

Providing a sense of unique community identity and aiding wayfinding within the Fruitvale District Community, Golden Associates has developed a signage system which will be mounted on existing and new metal light poles. The Fruitvale Sign highlights the historical orchard theme and references the street name while an environmental theme is depicted in the Sausal Creek Sign.

The banner, logo and gateway elements were designed as a series of “placemaking” elements for the Montclair Village.  Nestled within the dense Redwoods of the Oakland Hills, Montclair is the site of many arts-and-crafts fairs.  The attached graphics reflect the serenity of the Community and its surroundings, and draw artistic influence from Vincent Van Gogh’s famous painting, “The Starry Night.”
